Vancouver Tribute Luncheon 2011

The Learning Partnership held its third Vancouver Tribute Luncheon at The Pan Pacific Vancouver hotel on Friday, June 17.  The event honoured Joseph Segal, C.M., O.B.C., C.B.H.F., O.ST.J., LL.D. As well, astronaut  Dr. Robert Thirsk from the Canadian Space Agency was keynote speaker and Deborra Hope, the anchor of Early News on Global BC™, was master of ceremonies.

Joseph Segal is known for his extensive community involvement in post-secondary education. Mr. Segal served on the board of Simon Fraser University for over 12 years and was Chancellor for six years. He chaired the capital campaign for the creation of the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue at Simon Fraser, and was also a major contributor.

The Learning Partnership currently reaches over 50,000 students and their families in British Columbia through our programs and initiatives.

Sponsorship proceeds of the Champions of Public Education 2011 Vancouver Tribute Luncheon are going towards directly supporting The Learning Partnership’s programs in British Columbia, which are Welcome to Kindergarten™, Take Our Kids to Work™ and Canada’s Outstanding Principals™.
